I offer private guided battlefield tours across the Netherlands and Belgium, covering Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Belgian canal crossings. Every tour is a full day with one guide and your group only. No bus. No script. Just the ground, the stories, and someone who knows both.
Not sure which tour to choose? Read the descriptions below. Each one covers a different sector, division, or operation, so the right choice depends on what you want to see and how much time you have. If you are still unsure, contact me and I will help you decide.
Operation Market Garden tours
Operation Market Garden was fought across a 100-kilometre corridor from the Belgian border to Arnhem. No single tour can cover it all in depth, so I have split the operation into sectors. You can take one tour or combine several across consecutive days.
The full corridor in one day
Operation Market Garden Highlights
Eindhoven to Arnhem. Full day. This tour covers the entire operation in a single day: the American sectors (101st and 82nd Airborne), the British sector at Arnhem, and the route of XXX Corps. It is the broadest overview, ideal if you have one day and want to see it all. The trade-off is shorter stops at each location.
The American sector
Americans at Market Garden
Eindhoven to Nijmegen. Full day. Covers both the 101st Airborne (“Screaming Eagles”) and the 82nd Airborne (“All American”) sectors in one day. From the drop zones near Son to the Waal River crossing at Nijmegen. The best choice if you want the complete American story without splitting it across two days.
Hell’s Highway
Son to Veghel. Full day. Focuses entirely on the 101st Airborne sector: the bridges at Son, the fierce fighting around Best where two Medal of Honor recipients were killed within 24 hours, and the repeated German attempts to cut the corridor at Veghel, Eerde, and Koevering. The right tour if the Screaming Eagles are your primary interest and you want to go deep.
Nijmegen, 82nd Airborne
Nijmegen and Groesbeek. Full day. Covers the 82nd Airborne sector in depth: the landing and drop zones at Groesbeek, the Groesbeek Heights, Devil’s Hill, and the assault crossing of the Waal River. If the 82nd Airborne is your focus, this tour gives you the time and detail that the combined tours cannot.
The British sector
Arnhem: A Bridge Too Far
Arnhem and Oosterbeek. Full day. The story of the British 1st Airborne Division and the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade: the landing zones, the road to the bridge, the four-day stand at Arnhem bridge, the perimeter at Oosterbeek, and the evacuation across the Rhine. Includes the Airborne Cemetery.
Arnhem Highlights
Arnhem and Oosterbeek. Half day (4 hours). A shorter version of the full Arnhem tour, covering the key locations: the bridge, Oosterbeek, and the Airborne Cemetery. Ideal if your time is limited or if you want to combine a half-day tour with travel.
The ground war: XXX Corps and Belgium
XXX Corps Breakout
Lommel to Eindhoven. Full day. Follows the route of the Guards Armoured Division as it broke out from the Belgian-Dutch border and raced north towards Eindhoven. Covers the Joe’s Bridge crossing, the ambushes along the road, and the link-up with the 101st Airborne. The ground perspective on Market Garden that most tours skip.
Battle for the Belgian Canals
Belgium. Full day. Covers the fighting along the canal lines in Belgium in September 1944: the bridgeheads, the breakouts, and the operations that set the stage for Market Garden. A tour for those who want to understand the broader campaign beyond the airborne operations.
Band of Brothers
Easy Company Tour
Market Garden and The Island. Full day. Follows the story of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne through their Market Garden actions and onto The Island, the low-lying ground between the Rhine and the Waal where they spent weeks in the line after the operation. Built for those who want to walk in the footsteps of the Band of Brothers story.
Battle of the Bulge tours
Battle of the Bulge
The Ardennes, Belgium and Luxembourg. These tours cover the German offensive of December 1944 and the American defence, including Bastogne and the surrounding battlefields. Battle of the Bulge tours are always bespoke: I build the itinerary around your specific interests, whether that is the 101st Airborne at Bastogne, the northern shoulder, or the broader campaign. Contact me to discuss what you want to see and I will put together a route.
Custom and multi-day tours
If none of the standard tours fit what you are looking for, I also offer fully bespoke itineraries. You can combine locations from different tours, extend a day to cover more ground, or build a multi-day programme that covers Market Garden and the Bulge in one trip. I regularly work with military units, veterans’ families, and history groups who want something tailored to their connection to the history. See my groups page or contact me to discuss.

Full-day tours run from approximately 09:00 to 17:00. The Arnhem Highlights tour is a half day (4 hours).
Group size is 1 to 8 persons per tour. For larger groups, see my groups page.
